About Dr. Venarde
Dr. Venarde has more than fifteen years of clinical experience in a range of settings, including private practice, hospitals, community mental health centers, and university mental health services. He has over ten years experience in university mental health, most recently as a psychologist at NYU’s Counseling and Wellness Services. At NYU, he supervised the substance abuse team and the psychology fellowship program and served as the Associate Director and Deputy Director of Counseling and Wellness Services.
Dr. Venarde received his B.A. from Yale University, magna cum laude, with distinction in his major of history. He received his masters and doctorate in clinical psychology from the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University. He completed his psychology internship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York and his fellowship in psychology at Columbia University’s Counseling and Psychological Services.
In addition to extensive experience working with undergraduate and graduate students, Dr. Venarde also specializes in the treatment of substance use issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship and family concerns, and helping those responding to serious medical illnesses.
